The main objective of this teaching is not only to increase students’ interest and confidence in loving English lessons by applying the subtitling method in translating films but this study also determines the benefits of the subtitling method in translating films. The teaching was conducted in the class of XII AP 2 at Senior High School PGRI 35 West Jakarta 2019-2020. This paper provides the qualitative method. Data was collected through the process of teaching and learning, observation and research. The final results of this study indicate that: (1) The way of applying teaching English through a subtitling method in the movie translator technique are the students must understand the initial language before translating it into the translation language, pay attention to the punctuation, use Google translate, and put the right words to interpret in the sentence dialogue in the film. In the last meeting, the teacher gives and evaluates a score in terms of language accuracy and the proper use of punctuation, grades, a good teamwork when they translate the films, and the questioners that they receive in the last meeting. (2) The benefits of teaching English through the subtitling method in translator films are very effective because it can increase their love of learning English and it improves their English scores. This study is significant in providing the reader with a method or technique of translating a film that is fun and makes the students feel not bored while studying English.
