Krisjayanto (31170080),  TheUse of Extensive Reading in Teaching Reading at MTs Al-falaah

This study investigates the benefits of using extensive reading in teaching reading as well as students' attitudes towards it. Case study Design As part of the qualitative research used in this study the authors reveal that extensive reading is beneficial in teaching reading. There are five benefits found, they are building the perspective that reading is an interesting activity, creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, helping students to develop a broad vocabulary, improving students 'reading comprehension, and increasing students' motivation in reading. Besides that most of the students have positive attitude towards extensive reading usage in their reading class. Based on these findings, it is hoped that it can contribute to teaching English, especially in the use of extensive reading techniques in teaching reading. However, in order to achieve the maximum benefit from this technique, it is suggested that some aspects of the technique should be improved; This includes an increase in the teacher's understanding of the principles and concepts of extensive reading, an understanding of the importance of providing clear instructions, and an awareness of designing various activities to be carried out in the classroom
