Demonstration Method in Teaching Writing and Personal Pronouns at MTs Madinah Karya Tani Lampung

Abstrak

Writing is considered the most complicated aspect to master in learning English, especially personal pronouns. Personal pronouns are pronouns that are used for specific people, animals, things or things. These pronouns depend on the role (subject, object, and possessive), number, third person, and gender of the noun being replaced. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the demonstration technique to improve vocabulary and grammatical elements in teaching writing to MTs Medina Karya Tani Lampung students. This study uses a qualitative method. The research respondents were students of MTs Madinah Karya Tani class IX A and B, totaling 55 students. The research respondents were 28 students (class IXA) and 27 students (class IXB). In order to analyze the assessment data for each class, exercises such as pre-test and post-test were carried out. To get significant results. After the test was carried out before the students applied the demonstration method it turned out that the average score for each student was still low or below the specified standard, but after the test was carried out with the demonstration method being applied it turned out that the students' suspension had increased or was higher than before the demonstration method was applied. This means that the demonstration technique is significantly effective in teaching writing, especially for increasing students' understanding of the subject matter of personal pronouns.
