Indonesia is a multilingual country. There are a lot of people in Indonesia who can speak two languages or more. The fact is the ability to speak more than one language allows people to mix the codes whenever they speak. Nowadays, the phenomena of switching even mixing two or more languages have become a trend or style of speaking in Indonesian society especially young people and public figures. These phenomena are called code switching and code mixing. Therefore, the researcher is interested to conduct a research about code-switching and code-mixing. Descriptive qualitative is used as the methodology in this research. This research is aimed at accomplishing two major objectives: (1) to analyze the type of code-switching and code-mixing used by Najwa Shihab and Maudy Ayunda on Najwa Shihab’s Youtube channel; (2) to identify the possible reasons for code-switching and code-mixing used by Najwa Shihab and Maudy Ayunda on Najwa Shihab’s Youtube channel. The results of this research show that: (1) the researcher found two types of code-mixing and code-switching in Najwa Shihab’s and Maudy Ayunda’s utterances, (2) There are five types of reasons that are observed in Najwa Shihab’s and Maudy Ayunda’s utterances.
