Analysis Bound Morpheme and Social Dimensions In Sonnet 18 Poem By William Shakespeare

The purpose of this analysis is to obtain bound morpheme and social dimension in William Shakespeare's poem, entitled Sonnet 18, especially from words which are affixed, and words which change formation to indicate grammatical functions known as words which indicate to make new words known as derivation word. This analysis uses a qualitative descriptive method, the results of the analysis focus on several affixes, consisting of prefixes and suffixes, and types of bound morphemes, namely inflection and derivation words. It can be found that there are 14 words of inflection and 4 words of derivation. After the writer analyzed the bound morphemes, the writer classified them into each social dimension. The social dimension includes four categorizations, namely: social distance scale, status scale, formality scale, and functional scale. As a finding, the writer finds about eighteen social dimensions in this poem with one type, namely the social distance scale
