The Impact Of Servant Leadership For Millennial Generation From The Main Character In Sully Movie Directed By Clint Eastwood

Abstrak

The Movie is one of the most effective literary and media works to convey a message to everyone. Leadership movies are still an interesting topic to study because they can provide inspiration, motivation, and a positive impact for each generation. The Sully's movie directed by Clint Eastwood contains elements of leadership with a servant leadership style is shown in Sully as a US Airways pilot on January, 15th 2009 flight but had an accident where he had to land the plane over the Hudson River without any casualties. He became a hero in the tragedy called the miracle on the Hudson. The writer uses a qualitative descriptive method which is done by analyzing the images and dialogues shown by the characters in the movie, then classifying the data that has been obtained in the form of a description, and the writer also uses the method of library research by looking for references of research library materials in the form of print or electronic media. The results of this study analyze Sully's movie to find the definition and principles of servant leadership style and the impact for the millennial generation in seeing the figure of a leader. The conclusion from the analysis that the writer shows is that the principles of servant leadership style are presented in ten principles including listening, empathy, healing, self-awareness, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment to the growth of people, and building community
