THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AUDIO-LINGUAL METHOD IN TEACHING ENGLISH THROUGH KAMPUS MENGAJAR PROGRAM AT SDN HAMBARO 02

Kampus Mengajar is one of Kampus Merdeka's programs from the Ministry of Education, culture, research, and technology for students' universities to learn and develop their abilities through other activities outside of their study program. In this Kampus Mengajar program, the writer and the other 6 participants’ partners do the activity at SDN Hambaro 02, Kec. Nanggung, Leuwiliang, Bogor. The objective of this research is to explain the results of implementing English teaching to students at SDN Hambaro 02 using the Audio-Lingual method. The research method used by the writer is a qualitative method that focuses more on discussion in the form of explanatory paragraphs. One of the work programs the writer made that relates to English is the "English Day" work program. The English Day was created to help introduce English to students because currently, English lessons are no longer a compulsory subject at the elementary school level and because of the impact of COVID-19 which has created an education gap, especially in reading abilities among students at SDN Hambaro 02. The Audio-Lingual method is one of the easy teaching methods because this learning method places more emphasis on direct grammatical through speech which is usually carried out with direct interaction between the teacher and students in the teaching-learning process. The application of this method focuses on speaking and comprehension. The conclusion of this research based on the pre-test and post-test assessment is the Audio-Lingual method has positive results and good implementation for students at SDN Hambaro 02 to increase their English language skills, especially for students who still have difficulties in reading abilitie
