BRAVENESS VALUE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 FILM USING SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS

This study aims to find Bravery Values by using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory with the Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 film as the research object. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The aims of this research are (1) The braveness values of main character in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 film viewed from icon aspect (2) The braveness values of main character in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 film viewed from Index aspect (3) The braveness values of main character in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 film viewed from Symbol aspect. The result of this research is to explore the Braveness Value forms of signs expressed and describe the meaning of icon, index, and symbol in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Film using Charles Sanders Peirce theory. Of the entire Hunger Games Mockingjay Part film, which lasts for more than 2 hours, the result of the research is following: The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 film has eighteen signs. This study included three icons, five indexes, and two symbols and also there as well as several points that lead to the values of bravery.
