The reflection of feminism through main character in a movie little women by greta gerwig

This study examines movies as a form of literature and emphasizes their essential role in conveying and disseminating information. This study aims to identify the reflect on feminist values and types of feminism reflected in the movie Little Women by Greta Gerwig. Using a descriptive method, researchers analyze and examine various issues related to the main character in the movie. Betty Friedan's feminist theory is used to analyze the movie. The researcher finds three types of feminists and five feminist values reflected in the character of Jo March, the main character in the movie. Types of feminists include liberal feminists, socialist feminists, and individualist feminists. The character Jo March in the movie Little Women embodies the styles of each of these feminism. Feminist values include gender equality, individual fulfillment, self-actualization, challenging societal expectations, and societal expectations of solidarity. Jo embodies this through her struggle, determination, and commitment to personal growth, gender equality, and social progress. This study is important to know the message or meaning that the author wants to convey in the researcher work.
