Take into account the novel's historical context as well as the current state of the society, this study emphasizes the novel's relevance and impact on contemporary discussions about women's roles and rights. It offers recommendations to promote more diverse and empowering representations of women in movie. The purpose of this study is to examine the representation of women's roles and rights in Greta Gerwig's movie adaptation of Little Women (2019) through the lens of feminist theory. It using qualitative methods to examine how the movie disrupts conventional gender roles and stereotypes. This study attempts to comprehend how Gerwig represents and empowers women in current society. Through in-depth analysis of the characters, narrative structure, and visual style of the movie, the result shows that: (1) Portrayed of feminism in the storyline and several characters. (2) Effiong’s classifications of feminism from the collected data. (3) Moral messages contained in the movie about pursuing dreams and gender equality in social life.
