Contextual meaning of metaphor and hyperbole in all about luv album by monsta x

This study aims to analyze metaphors and hyperboles, to find out what is dominant between metaphors and hyperboles, and analyze the contextual meaning in the album All About Luv by Monsta X. The writer uses a descriptive qualitative method which describes the analysis in a factual, accurate and systematic manner. Based on research findings conducted on All About Luv album by Monsta X, there are ten songs in this album. The results in this research are: 1). There are 3 metaphors and 7 hyperboles in Who Do U Love, 2 metaphors and 2 hyperboles in Love U, 3 metaphors in Happy Without Me, 2 metaphors and 1 hyperboles in Got My Number, 3 metaphors and 4 hyperboles in Someone's Someone, 4 hyperboles in Middle of The Night, 4 hyperboles in She's The One, 5 hyperboles in You Can't Hold My Heart, 4 metaphors and 7 hyperboles in Misbehave, also 3 hyperboles in Beside U. 2). Based on the identification results, there are a total of 17 metaphors and 37 hyperboles from 54 data, which means the dominant between metaphor and hyperbole in All About Luv album is hyperbole. 3). The contextual meaning contained in All About Luv album is contained in several categories of context, namely: social context, emotional context, physical context, human context, and animal function context.
