Radical feminism in black widow movie directed by cate shortland

Abstrak

Feminism can be seen as a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression, and to achieve full gender equality in law and practice. Black Widow is a scientific-fiction superhero movie directed by Cate Shortland. The movie tells the story of women who to be black widow under the control of secret criminal organization called Red Room Academy. Natasha Romanoff as the main character and an ex of black widow is shown taking down the Red Room Academy nd its male leader, Dreykov. There ar three objective in this thesis. The first objective is to describe of how Natasha as the main character presented in the movie based on feminism view, Next is to analyze the problem of the main character while againts the gender equality. Last, analyze the way of main character fight againts the male radical. The method used for this thesis is qualitative descriptive method by wathing the movie and taking several scenes that are related to the theory. The result of this thesis reveals that: (1) The potrait of Natasha as the main character based on feminism view are independent, social care, and preseverance. (2) The analysis shows the problem of main character in againts the gender equality is men hold unequal power over women. (3) The way of main character againts the male radical is self-sacrifice.
