Code mixing and code switching on livy renata’s youtube channel

Code is a system that people use to communicate with one another because when people want to communicate with one another, they must use a specific code to convey their feelings. This case made the author attracted to analyze code mixing and code switching in bilingual person. The title of this research is “Code Mixing and Code Switching on Livy Renata’s YouTube Channel”. The purpose of the study are (1) to know what the types of code switching are and code Mixing. (2) to know what are the functions of code switching and code mixing on Livy Renata’s YouTube Channel. Hence, the descriptive qualitative approach to data collection and content analysis is used in this research. In collecting the data, the writer watched to the video and transcript the utterances through conversation from Livy Renata until the data are collected. In result, intra- sentential code mixing and intra-sentential code switching is the most types of code mixing which used by Livy Renata and personalization and objectification functions is the most type functions used by Livy Renata.
