This study aimed to identify speech acts in the dialogues of the main character in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is a film that tells a young hero whose life is in disarray because his identity is revealed by criminals to the public, causing problems to the world. The film is described and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The analysis of speech act used Searle’s theory, that divided into five classifications, that are commissive, declarative, directive, expressive, and representative. The main character used many dialogues in the movie, but only 27 speech acts are found that are used by the main character in his dialogues. Those 27 data are commissive 4 data, declarative 2 data, directive 9 data, expressive 10 data, and representative 2 data. The dominant type of speech act is Expressive. This type is most came up in the conversations because the film is an action genre whereas the main character often fights with villains. So, the expressions such as complaint, apology and thank utterances which is part of expressive type frequently used in the dialogues of this movie.
