This research aims to analyze the the dark of humanity using a intrinsic approach. with the intrinsic approach to the dark side of humanity is a very interesting research topic but is rarely carried out because it requires quite a long reading time and thoroughness in analyzing short stories. The intrinsic approach method emphasizes aspects that are building blocks of literary works (intrinsic). The method used in this research is a the intrinsic approach using descriptive qualitative methods. The activities carried out are analyzing, interpreting and assessing what types of the dark side of humanity are found in short stories. The results of the analysis of the short story "The most dangerous game" tells the story,  the dark side of humanity is exposed by the main charater of General Zarrof. He becomes the anti thesis of the humanity with the exposure of his desire to hunt the human as the prey. He shows the sadism as the part of the dark side of humanity. He becomes excited when he sees Rainsford as new prey to hunt. This thesis research analyzes the dark side of humanity in stories in terms of the intrinsic aspects that make it up.
