Loss and grief are a condition that will definitely be experienced by everyone. This study aims to determine one of the mental health problems caused by deep grief, namely prolonged grief disorder. Prolonged Grief Disorder is a mental health problem where there is a deep sense of grief that occurs in a period of approximately 6 months due to the loss of a loved one or the closest person. The research was conducted by observing the symptoms of prolonged grief disorder and the stages of grief. This research is intended to make more people aware of the importance of mental health. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method so that the data generated can be detailed and description. The writer found out 7 of 8 symptoms of Prolonged Grief Disorder and 3 of 5 stages of grief that occurred in the main character. Based on the results of research conducted by the writer on the main character "Otto" in the film A Man Called Otto, it is found that the main character suffers from prolonged grief disorder and is indicated to experience grief. Therefore, this research can be useful as a reference or reading material to obtain information about prolonged grief disorder and the 5 stages of grief by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.
