Analysis Derivational Affixes in the Divide Album by Ed Sheeran

This research aims to find out the derivational affixes in ‘Divide’ Album by Ed Sheeran. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods where the writer tries to find out the derivational affixes. In this research, the writer used several words in the song lyrics from Divide Album by Ed Sheeran. The technique for collecting the data are by listening the songs of Divide album by Ed Sheraan on the internet, reading the entire data source cautiously, and collecting the data which contain derivational affixes. It is followed by identifying, classifying, and analyzing the data as the procedures of data analysis. There are 16 songs in the Divide Album by Ed Sheeran, but the writer used 10 from 16 songs in the album Divide in this research. From 10 lyrics data consist of 3 types of prefixes and 6 suffixes. The functions of derivational affixes consist of noun forming, adverb forming, adjective forming, and verb forming. The mostly used of affixes in the Divide Album By Ed Sheeran is suffix, it is the suffix – er to form a noun,  and –ly to form an adverb.
