Firmansyah As (3117063), THE STRUGGLE TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE DIRECTED BYPETER BERG

This is the result of the analysis submitted to alex hopper's personality in movie directed by Peter berg, the purpose of the analysis was to provide clear data and to identify the main character of alex hopper in movie.The writer also analyzes the signs and causes the main character to do a thing. In this research, the writer uses a qualitative approach, which is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of words or verbally from the people or observed behavior and watched the entire film. The results of this assessment show that alex hopper's personality portrayed it as when illustrates  when it is easy to have an arrogant attitude but as time went by, alex hopper join being a Navy officer and made him a person of responsibility, leadership, intelligence, and compassion. In films, there are two types of struggle point to alex hopper's struggle: poletariat and bourgeois while the middle class is not found in the films battleship
