The main goal of this research are to find out the effectiveness of Shadowing Technique to improve students’ English speaking skills,  to increase the student confidence at speaking English and to assist the students at acquiring achievement at speaking English . The research was conducted at Extracurricular Activity (English Club) of SMP Negeri 12 Kota Tangerang in academic year 2019/2020. The data was collected by teaching learning process and observation. This paper provides the readers with a method or a technique which can improve their English speaking skills and increase their confidence’. The final result of this research indicated that: (1) shadowing technique can be used to improve students’ English speaking skill, (2) shadowing technique provides the students with an interesting and exciting learning process which is suitable to be used by junior high school students (3) shadowing technique helps the students to be more confident to speak English in front of other people. Based on the result of this research, the writer confirms that shadowing technique is one of the most recommended techniques to improve students speaking skills and to increase students’ confidence at speaking English.
