Perkembangan teknologi informasi saat ini sedang berkembang dengan pesat baik yang bergerak di bidang ekonomi, pendidikan, pemerintahan dan sebagainya untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dengan menggunakan komputer. Dengan adanya teknologi informasi pengaksesan terhadap data atau informasi yang tersedia dapat berlangsung dengan cepat, efisien, serta dapat menghemat waktu, tenaga kerja dan biaya. SMK Harnasto Institut adalah salah satu sekolah yang sampai saat ini masih menggunakan media absensi siswa secara manual, maka dibutuhkan suatu program absensi siswa berbasis web, sehingga dapat mempermudah kegiatan absensi siswa dan hasil yang diapatkan lebih cepat dan akurat. Pembuatan Sistem Informasi Absensi Siswa ini menggunakan cara pengumpulan data dengan metode wawancara, Metode  observasi, dan studi pustaka, untuk pengembangan perangkat lunaknya menggunakan metode air terjun (Waterfall).

The development of information technology is currently growing rapidly both engaged in economics, education, government and so on to solve problems using computers. With the existence of information technology access to available data or information can take place quickly, efficiently, and can save time, labor and costs. SMK Harnasto Institut is one of the schools that until now still uses student attendance media manually, so a web-based student attendance program is needed, so as to facilitate student absenteeism activities and the results obtained faster and more accurately. Making Student Attendance Information System This method uses data collection by interview method, observation method, and literature study, for the development of the software using the waterfall method (Waterfall).
