This paper is written to find the shiftings happened in translating dialog of The Trouble with Tink novel. The purpose is to know how the translator applied shift to anticipate the loss of meaning when rendering the ST and how she connect the information successfully. The objectives of this analysis are to find  the case of shifting applied by Vina Damajanti based on Catford’s theory and the most frequently used shift in the translation. The object of this analysis is a children’s novel entitled The Trouble with Tink and Ada Apa dengan Tink. The writer use descriptive-qualitative method by comprehending and analyzing the content based on the theory used. The result showed that all of translation shifts were applied to create an equivalent and acceptable Target Text. Each shift used to solve the differences problem between SL and TL language system. The most frequently shift applied was structure shift at 41% followed by unit shift 32%, class shift 11%, level shift 9%, and intra-system shift 8%.
