Tri Kumalasari (31180044), A Psychological Analysis of The Main Character in Joker
Movie Directed by Todd Phillips.  
The psychological aspect can be found in various literary works including in films, one of
which is the film Joker by Todd Philips, played by Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck. The
purpose of this paper is to study psychology and psychological types based on Carl Jung's
theory of the main character. in the Joker film by using a qualitative descriptive method to
analyze it. After analyzing, the psychology of the main characters in the Joker film are honest,
frustrated, disappointed, and sadistic. The type of psychology contained in the main character
in the Joker film is Introvert using theory (Jung, 2018). Arthur's daily life shows an introverted
side. He tends to withdraw from the outside world, is quiet, shy, and prefers to write than talk.
Although the Joker movie feels so dark, there are many life lessons that can be taken from the
Joker movie. Mental health is just as important as physical health, so it's important to be careful.
Many people think of mental health as a trivial thing, in fact the Joker movie illustrates how
dangerous mental health is for a person's life.
