Baum’s Novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

 

 

 

The objective of this study is to know about the description of hope and the moral values based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Novel by L. Frank Baum Melfi. Based on the theory of Bruininks, hope is a positive emotion experienced in reference to an outcome that has not yet occurred. The writer chooses The Wonderful Wizard of Oz because  the  novel  contains  the  hope  definition.  The  writer  uses  descriptive qualitative method for analyze the novel. The results of this analysis are (1) the description of hope based on the novel are hope is expectation of tomorrow life, hope is a positive emotional support, and hope is a power giving; (2) the moral values from novel are courage, kindness, and love ourself.
