Efficient official letter administration is a crucial element in supporting institutional operations, including at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI). However, the manual letter numbering system previously used caused several issues, such as limited access, queuing delays, numbering errors, and difficulty in searching archive data. This Final Project aims to design and develop a web-based letter numbering system to replace the inefficient manual process. The system development method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature studies. The system was built using PHP with the CodeIgniter 3 framework and MySQL database, and includes features such as automatic letter numbering, letter data management, letter history, and role-based access control (staff and admin). Testing results show that the system successfully improves efficiency, reduces numbering errors, and simplifies data retrieval and reporting. The system is expected to support administrative digitalization and streamline workflows within FIB UI.
