The objective of this research is to know the friendship value of the main character through a qualitative method. The research was the conducted on a movie called 3 Idiots. The data were collected through summarization,  analysis of the movie and many others. This research contains definitions, cause and effect friendship value through a qualitative method. The research indicate that: (1) Movie or cinema, basically means a moving image of time, space, sound and contains a story. (2) the cause of friendship is caused by personality and good behavior of a person to others, and there are 13 traits of friendship by the expert : a. trustworthiness b. honesty c. dependability d. loyalty e. the ability to trust others f. empathy  g. the ability to be non-judgmental h. good listening skills i. the ability to offer support in good times j. the ability to offer support in bad times k. self-confidence l. people who are fun m. ability to see humor (3) friend can support you and always protect you, and there are 3 effects of friendship : a. happiness b. well-being c. physical health.
