Istiqomah (31210020), Language Structure of Tour Guide at the Jakarta History Museum

 

This study aims to analyze the language structure used by tour guides at the Jakarta History Museum. The focus of this study is to compare the use of spoken language by tour guides with the written language contained in the museum guide. In addition, this study also examines how tour guides manage visitor responses during the tour. The research methods used were field research, library research, and documentation. The results show that tour guides use spoken language which is more dynamic and contextual compared to written language which is more formal and structured. Tour guides also use various communication strategies to maintain visitor engagement and satisfaction, such as using humor, interesting stories, and rhetorical questions. This research makes an important contribution in improving the quality of tour guide services and enriching visitors' experience in museums.
