Content Analysis In Beauty and The Beast Film

The objective of this study is to analyze the thematic elements and moral messages in the film Beauty and the Beast (2017) through the application of content analysis. The selection of this film was predicated on its capacity to impart educational values and moral messages that resonate with the intricacies of social and cultural existence. The analysis centered on the representation of themes and moral messages through characters, dialogue, storyline, and visual elements. The data was obtained by identifying significant scenes that reflect the primary themes, and these scenes were subsequently categorized according to the theory of themes and morals in literature and film. The results of the study indicate that the film under scrutiny employs a multifaceted narrative that explores a series of salient themes, including personal transformation through self-awareness, identity and critical thinking, sacrifice and familial love, empathy and emotional intimacy, authentic love that transcends superficial appearances, abuse of power and toxic masculinity, and renewal and harmony. The moral messages contained therein emphasize the importance of inner beauty, the courage to be oneself, the power of empathy and respect in relationships, and the value of sacrifice for the good of others. The present study posits that the 2017 film Beauty and the Beast functions not solely as a work of entertainment but also as a medium for moral education and introspection. These findings can be used as academic references in literary studies, media studies, and character education studies.
