This study aimed to analyze the effect of work motivation and work environment on employee performance at
MTsN 31 Jakarta, both partially and simultaneously. The study employed a quantitative approach with a
statistical design. The population consisted of 70 employees, including teaching and administrative staff, and
the sample comprised 58 respondents selected through probability sampling using a simple random technique.
Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, and literature review. The research instruments met
the validity and reliability requirements, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.901 for work motivation, 0.882
for work environment, and 0.911 for employee performance. Data were analyzed using classical assumption
tests, multiple linear regression, t test, F test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that work
motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t value of 4.735 and a
significance value of 0.000. The work environment also had a positive and significant effect, with a t value of
2.061 and a significance value of 0.044. Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected employee
performance, as indicated by an F value of 65.334 and a significance value of 0.000. The R Square value of
0.704 indicates that work motivation and work environment explained 70.4 percent of the variation in
employee performance. These findings confirm that improving employee performance in madrasah requires
strengthening work motivation while creating a supportive work environment.
