Elementary students’ reading comprehension ability remains one of the major issues in the learning process. Many students struggle to understand both explicit and implicit meanings in a text, summarize the content, and express the information they have obtained. This low level of reading comprehension affects the achievement of optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Literature Circle method in improving the reading comprehension of fifth-grade students at SD Islam Assa’adah. The research was conducted during the participation in the Kampus Mengajar Batch 6 program under the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The pre-test results showed that the average score of students' reading comprehension was only 46.79. After the implementation of the Literature Circle method, the post-test average increased to 67.68. This method created an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning environment. Through group discussions, students exchanged ideas, developed critical thinking skills, and improved their ability to comprehend reading materials. They also learned to appreciate others' opinions and connect the texts with personal experiences. The improvement in learning outcomes indicates that Literature Circle is an effective and relevant method for literacy instruction at the elementary level. This research offers benefits for teachers in choosing fun, interactive, and meaningful reading strategies, especially in primary education.
