Students’ reading interest in SMP Plus Al Mugni, Ciamis, remains relatively low, primarily due to limited facilities and the absence of structured literacy programs. This research aims to improve students’ reading interest through the Reading Corner program, which was designed and provided during the Kampus Mengajar Batch 6 program. The research employed a Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach and referred to the habituation stage of the School Literacy Action (GLS). The methods used included observation, interviews, and documentation to explore the school’s literacy environment, student engagement, and the effectiveness of the provided strategy. The findings indicate that, before the program, the school lacked both a culture of reading and facilities to support literacy activities. Through the provision of the Reading Corner and the 15-minute daily reading routine before class, students began to show behavioural changes, such as reading voluntarily, demonstrating interest in books, and actively maintaining the reading space. The success of the program was marked by the creation of a previously unavailable reading space and increased student participation in literacy activities. This research concludes that simple and context-sensitive strategies can foster a sustainable literacy culture in schools with limited resources.
