This thesis examines Loki's psychological complexity in Mackenzi Lee's novel through Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. It investigates how the Id, Ego, and Superego are manifested and interact, shaping Loki's character development. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the study analyzes selected narrative events, dialogues, and quotations from the novel, classifying data based on Freud's structural model of the psyche. Findings reveal Loki's Id driven by insecurity and power desires, his Ego mediating impulses with reality through strategic thought, and his Superego contributing to guilt and self-doubt. The research concludes that Loki's character evolves through a dynamic interplay of these psychic forces, demonstrating a complex journey beyond simple hero or villain labels. This study contributes to literary criticism by applying psychological theory to young adult literature, offering insights into interpreting morally ambiguous characters.
