The sandwich generation phenomenon is increasingly evident along with increasing life expectancy and changes in family structure. Parents who no longer have income often rely on their children to meet their daily needs so that various multidimensional challenges, including physical, emotional, financial, and social aspects are faced by the sandwich generation. Developing effective strategies to care for aging parents is an important thing that must be applied by the sandwich generation. Therefore, this study aims to identify strategies that the sandwich generation uses to care for their parents and themselves. Qualitative descriptive methods were used in this study with three informants who had the responsibility to care for their parents. The results of this study indicate that the sandwich generation faces quite severe financial challenges, but is able to develop effective financial management strategies to fulfill their responsibilities, by looking for additional work, managing income wisely, and dividing income with a structured percentage, they managed to maintain a balance between personal needs and responsibilities to the family.
