This research explores the use of code-mixing in the “Pahamin Apa Itu Boundaries” podcast from Dear Aya’s YouTube channel. The goal of this study is to investigate the ways in which members of Generation Z combine Indonesian and English in everyday internet discussions. For the purpose of this study, spoken exchanges from the podcast are transcribed and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive technique. According to Hoffmann's hypothesis (1991), code mixing can be broken down into three categories: intra-sentential, intra-lexical, and phonological modifications. This analysis is based on this idea. A total of 54 pieces of data were discovered, with intra-sentential code mixing being the most prevalent (92.59 percent). Code mixing can be done for a variety of purposes, including the expression of emotions, the emphasizing of particular points, the clarification of speech, and the formation of a feeling of identity. According to these studies, code mixing is a common and natural approach for members of Generation Z to communicate effectively, express themselves, and form social connections with one another. The fact that they are able to speak two languages and adapt to contemporary digital surroundings is reflected in this.
