This study examines the use of Elon Musk's speech act in the talk show "Real Time with Bill Maher" on the Youtube channel. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of speech acts used by Elon Musk and the specific context in which those speech acts are used in public speech. The study adopts a practice-oriented descriptive and qualitative approach, particularly leveraging Searle and Austin's speech act theory. The data of this study came from interview recordings and was analyzed based on three categories of speech acts, namely: Locutionary act, Ilocutionary act and perlocutionary act. The study found that Elon Musk used the soeech act to express opinions, provide information, and convince the public about topics such as technology, freedom of expression, and social issues The results of the analysis showed that the most dominant type of speech used was the Illocutionary Act at 64%, followed by the Locutionary Act at 18%. dan Perlocutionary Act sebesar 18%. The way he uses dialogue reflects effective, planned, and improvised communication strategies. This discovery will contribute to speech act research, especially in the analysis of the way public figures communicate in the mass media.
