Song lyrics will always use figurative language to enhance meaning and evoke emotions, one of which is style. Bruno Mars, as a famous singer and songwriter, often includes strong figurative language in his songs to create an emotional bond with the listener. This study aims to identify and analyze the types of figurative language found in several selected songs by Bruno Mars, especially the Doo-Wops & Hooligans album. The purpose of this study is to determine how the use of figurative language enriches the meaning and emotional impact in his song lyrics. The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, by reading and interpreting the selected song lyrics, and then categorizing them based on eight types of figurative language: metaphor, personification, apostrophe, symbol, allegory, paradox, irony and hyperbole. The results of the study show that hyperbole is the most dominant type of figurative language found in Bruno Mars' songs. The use of this figurative language is able to create a beautiful capture and deepen emotional connection, so that the listener gets emotions and feelings from the experience conveyed. Overall, the use of figurative language enriches the quality of the lyrics and the aesthetic aspects of Bruno Mars' music.
