ABSTRACT

 

In an inclusive learning environment, different types of students are brought together in the same class, which of course has an impact on how teachers deal with regular students and students with special needs, which are certainly different.This study used the vark model by fleming 2001 to identify students' learning styles in an inclusive setting and also identified teachers' teaching styles using the Grasha-Riechman teaching style survey. Data was collected through surveys and classroom observations. The first finding of this study highlights that the most prevalent English learning style of students at Champion Community Homeschooling is read/write, followed by visual and then for aural and kinesthic is stated to be balanced.  The next finding is the result of the teacher's teaching style which states that it is categorized as expert, personal model and facilitator. Another finding is the frequency of applying various elements as learning media to fulfill student learning styles in the VARK model by teachers in class. This finding shows that teachers also combine various elements as a form of providing facilities to meet the needs of each student's learning style even though the implementation is still often constrained. In addition, the last finding presents the perceptions from the perspective of students and teachers regarding the inclusive learning environment that has been taking place. The results show that student and teacher feedback is dominated by the responses "always" and "often" which in percentage reached more than 60%.
