Code-switching is a transition from one language to another that may occur during a speaking event, depending on the situation and occasion. This research aims to determine the types of code-switching and the reasons for code-switching. This study analyzes code-switching used by Cinta Laura and Nessie Judge in the #BICARACINTA YouTube Session titled ‘Tenyata sengaja disebarkan untuk pengalihan isu! Cinta Laura x Nessie Judge’, using the theories of code-switching proposed by Apple & Muysken (2006) and Hoffman (1991). A qualitative method was employed to analyze the data.The result of this research showed that Cinta and Nessie produced 105 utterances. Cinta and Nessie use three types of code-switching with 27 data of tag-switching, 79 data of intra-sentential switching, and 33 data of inter-sentential switching. There are six reasons for do code-switching used by Cinta and Nessie, they are 53 talking about a particular topic, 5 quoting somebody else, 6 being emphatic about something, 10 interjection, 6 repetition used for clarification, and 76 intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor. The most dominant type of code-switching used by Cinta and Nessie is intra-sentential code-switching, with 79 data. The most dominant reason for Cinta and Nessie do code-switching is intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor, with 76 data.
