Reality and magic are typically seen as distinct elements, but they are artfully combined in the genre of Magical Realism. This genre can be observed in various forms of literature, including novels, movies, and drama. This research analyzes the presence of Magical Realism in the movie Last Night in Soho (2021) with the aim of to identify the characteristics types of Magical Realism in the movie based on Wendy B. Faris' theory and examine the most prevalence type of magical realism appear in the movie. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, this research gathers data from scenes and scripts in the movie, which are presented through narration, dialogue, and imagery relevant to the topic. The findings reveal five characteristics of Magical Realism: irreducible elements (seven instances, 32% of the data), unsettling doubts (three instances, 14%), phenomenal worlds (five instances, 23%), merging realism (two instances, 9%), and disruptions to time, space, and identity (five instances, 23%). In conclusion, the movie aims to present elements that challenge conventional logical explanations of the real world.
