Abstrak

This research aims to analyze the representation of the women's labor movement as depicted by Sarah Chapman in the film Enola Holmes 2 and examine the alignment between the film's narrative and the real history of the 1888 Bryant & May factory strike. The women's labor movement was a crucial force in the history of workers' rights struggles, especially in the late 19th century. Enola Holmes 2 presents Sarah Chapman as a central figure in this struggle. This study employs a qualitative approach using feminist theory, particularly radical and Marxist feminism, to analyze how the film challenges gender stereotypes and portrays class struggles. The research findings indicate that the film is fairly accurate in representing historical reality, although fictional elements were added to enhance the narrative. The representation of Sarah Chapman in the film highlights women's fight against unfair working conditions and the importance of collective solidarity in achieving social change. These findings are relevant in contemporary discussions about the role of women in labor movements and feminism.
