This research focuses on analyzing the language style used by characters in Searching movie through Sociolinguistics analysis. This research aims to analysis types of language styles using Martin Joos’s theory (1967), namely that there are 5 types of language style including Formal style, Consultative style, Casual style, Intimate style, and Frozen style. This research was conducted by applying qualitative methods to find types of language style and collecting data to answer research questions. The steps taken by the writer in writing this thesis and collecting data systematically include confirming the research topic, collecting information obtained through various sources, watching the movie, carrying out documentation, analyzing and identifying types of language style in Searching movie. The results of this research found that there are 14 Casual style data (28%), 8 Intimate style data (16%), 10 Consultative style data (20%), and 18 Formal style data (36%). The results of this research also found that the most dominant language style was the Formal style, and in this research, no language style was found for the type of Frozen style.
