Going through various traumas shape human behaviousr,especially in high-pressure enviroments,cope with their insecurities and ambitions.Ultimately,Miranda gains self-awareness and breaks free from uncounscious cycle,choosing a path aligned with her true values This research explores the Defense mechanism and unconsciousof Miranda Priestly, a central character in The Devil Wears Prada, usingpsychoanalytic and self-psychology frameworks. As the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, Miranda exhibits traits of a high-functioning yet deeply conflicted personality. Analyzing her behavior through Freudian theory reveals her unconscious defense mechanisms Despite her icy exterior, moments of vulnerability hint at a deeply human need for connection and validation. This research concludes that Miranda's behavior is not only based on rational awareness, but is also influenced byunconscious processes that reflect the complexity of her personality. These findingsenrich understanding of the psychological dynamics of fictional characters and therelevance of psychoanalytic theory in literary analysis.
