Abstrak

The objectives of this study are:  to identify the moral standards inherent in the ethical dilemmas of the central character based on Immanuel Kant's deontological ethics, and to analysis the driving forces behind character development, including survival, revenge, and redemption. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, blending literary analysis and moral psychology approaches. Empirical evidence was collected through observation of pivotal scenes, dialogue exchanges, and cinematography techniques (such as comparative lightings and shot composition) that confirm the theme of moral ambiguity. The conclusions are that:  Sierra Six's ethical dilemma is a reflection of institutional duty (towards the CIA) versus private ethical sensitivity, as the hero chooses to preserve civilian life even though he goes against the orders of the authorities. This is in line with deontological theory of absolute moral obligation; The antagonist's motivations (Lloyd Hansen) are extrinsic power ambition and recognition while Six shifts from extrinsic motivation (blind loyalty) to intrinsic motivation (redemption and protection), thus becoming a moral agent out of a "tool". The study discovers that the movie not only analysis corrupt power systems but also presents a humanist perspective towards moral agency in an absurd world where motivations and moral values interact to define character identity.
